In 1972, Apollo 16 lifted off, the fifth mission to land on the Moon.
Apollo 16 flew on a Saturn V rocket with a crew made up of John Young, Ken Mattingly and Charles Duke. It was on the Moon from April 21 to April 24, 1972, and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on April 27.
