In 1846, astronomers discovered Triton, the largest moon of Neptune.
Triton was discovered by William Lassell in England, and it is an irregular moon. It measures about 2,700 kilometers across and takes nearly 6 days to go once around Neptune. Its surface temperature is about 38 kelvin.
