In 2003, astronomers discovered Eris, a dwarf planet of the Solar System.
Eris was discovered at the Palomar Observatory by Michael Brown, Chadwick Trujillo and David Rabinowitz. It measures about 2,326 kilometers across, and Dysnomia orbits it. It takes about 560 years to go once around the Sun.
