In 1831, HMS Beagle set sail on the voyage tied to the theory of evolution.
The second voyage of HMS Beagle left Plymouth under the command of Robert FitzRoy, and Charles Darwin took part in it. On its way around the world it called at Salvador, Valparaíso and Coquimbo, among many other stops. The voyage ended at Falmouth on October 2, 1836.
